Cover Reveal: No One's Angel by Kelly Walker

No One's Angel by Kelly Walker
Publication date: September 17th, 2013
Genre: New Adult Contemporary Romance
Cover Created by: Indie-Spired Book Covers

Tess used to spend more hours than she’d care to admit playing her favorite computer game, using the nickname Angel. She could pretend her life was different, and she could pretend Arion was just a friend. But a girl needs more to keep her warm at night than pixels and she traded her virtual heaven for a real life hell. Now she’s on the run from a past she won’t talk about, and the only place she has to go is the doorstep of the friend she’s never actually met.

When Angel disappeared from their nightly games, it nearly destroyed Arion. He threw himself into work and women, but he can’t help knowing the one night stands will never compare to the angel who haunts his dreams. At first, when she shows up soaking wet and scared-shitless on his doorstep, he thinks his prayers have been answered.

But the more Arion tries to keep Angel close, the more her fear drives her away. If they are ever going to have a chance for a future, they’ll first have to deal with the past that hasn’t forgotten her any more than she’s forgotten it, and Arion will have to learn how to let her go.

No One's Angel is a New Adult(NA) Contemporary Romance and is recommended for mature audiences only due to language and sexual content.

My Review

Addicted To You is intense, gritty, dark, emotional, and totally riveting!  I immediately had to find out if there would be another book because I would have been haunted by Lily and Lo forever if their story had ended where this book ends. Trust me when I tell you that I was holding my breath looking for a sequel and I am thrilled and relieved to announce that yes there will be more to this story.

I can't remember another book that had me simultaneously hating and loving the main characters. One minute I'm crying right along with Lily and then I'm raging at her for being so weak. Then I'm so mad at Lo for being such a jerk, then the very next minute he is tender and loving. I guess this is the way of addicts and Krista and Becca Ritchie have nailed these characters so perfectly.

Now I can't tell you if there were any grammar mistakes or even if the writing was spot on because I was so caught up in the story that I don't think I would have noticed any of these anyway. I can't remember the last book that had me this captivated. I will be anxiously awaiting Ricochet (book 1.5) and Addicted For Now (Book 2).

My Review

Just finishing Nearly Broken and I'm hoping that this review will be coherent because right now my thoughts are everywhere. This book is seriously intense and heartbreaking. Knowing that so much of this book really happens to children and women all over the world just infuriates me and makes my heart literally ache.

Nearly Broken while highly disturbing is wonderfully written. Devon Ashley does an amazing job of making you feel. I was instantly drawn into the story because at first you don't know what has happened to Megan. You just know that whatever it was it wasn't good.

Once Nick enters the story Megan starts to open up a little and he really brings out a more playful side of her. When you finally find out who Nick really is and what has happened to Megan, well that is when your heart starts to break for her.

I highly recommend Nearly Broken not just because it is a great book but I also think it could be an amazing tool for raising awareness. (being kind of vague, I know but I hate spoilers)

At the age of thirteen, Angelina Clark followed in the footsteps of her ancestors by casting an Appalachian love spell, which promised she would blossom into a beautiful and gifted woman who would find her true love. A young Angelina had been thrilled to participate in the sacred ritual, but through the years, her father’s untimely death and her mother’s failing health have shaken Angelina’s magical faith to its core. As her twenty-first birthday approaches, she refuses to practice her supernatural gifts and no longer believes in the love charm. That is, until Dylan Thomas arrives on her front porch. Dylan, a Nashville writer, travels to the mountain town of Maple Ridge to unearth the family’s supernatural secrets. While her clairvoyant mother is convinced that Dylan is her daughter’s soul mate, Angelina refuses to see the nosy reporter as anything more than a nuisance. Despite their constant bickering, sparks fly. Dylan admits he feels strangely drawn to Angelina and is in no hurry to leave Maple Ridge or publish his magazine article. Fearful that his emotions are being influenced by the spell, a stubborn Angelina struggles to fight her own budding attraction to the reporter. The two inevitably grow closer just as her mother’s health begins to deteriorate, and Angelina is faced with the possibility of selling the family’s music shop to pay the mounting medical expenses. Desperate to help the woman he loves, Dylan explores his own family tree and finds support from an unlikely source. Can he finally prove his love is real—spell or no spell? A story filled with love, friendship, family, and just a hint of Appalachian magic, Mountain Charm will leave you spellbound.
